hollywood stars why don't they obey the law

Why do people in Hollywood think they are above the law? I believe its because they are given a pass because of there bank statements and status among society and race as well. Ms. Lohan is a perfect example of this, she gets chances after chances to do the right thing and she doesn't are they serious crimes no! but if she were another race besides white she would be sitting behind bars rotting while she thought about what it is that she had done. What are the reasons behind that i ask you?

  1. The reason that clebrities dont obey the law is because they have money and with money in this world you can do just about anything. So they feel like i can break the law, and get right out of jail. Regular people dont have the same type of money to put up for court cases lawyers and etc.

  2. I believe that stars are givena pat on the wrist when they commit a crime and the bigger the star the more they get away with. I agree that you also have to be the right color as well. This is the only media coverage Ms. Lohan is getting these days. I guess bad media coverage is better than no media coverage.

  3. I believe that all celebrities black, white or hispanic are given leniency when it comes to our justice system.I agree that celebrities tend to think they are above the law and think that money can over power our law system. I don't really think it's a racial thing for example black males such as foot ball player O.J simpson and phenom rapper T.I case, in which both males was given leniecy. i think the reason for this leniecy is because of there status and image to their fans, I think the system wants celebrities to continue to inspire and entertain people of lower statuses.

  4. This seems like it goes back to our class about social satus. Celebraties and people like them are able to get a slap on the rist instead of a harsh punishment because of their high status. Being able to get away with breaking the law is one of the rewards that come with the status. I also think that it has something to do with the way we percieve deviance. For some reason it seems as though if a celebraty breaks the law then it is less deviant than if a common person breaks the law. It can also be interpreted in the opposite way. Celebraties sometimes are viewed harshly becasue they are in the public eye and whatever crime they did may be seen as more deviant than it really is.

  5. I would have to disagree on the last few sentences of this blog, race has nothing to do with how a celebrity gets a punishment from law breaking. With Lindsey Lohan, she was arrested rather for a DUI, theft, or basically partying to hard. She was facing jail time for a few days, and tons of fines to pay off, unlike T.I who is a famous rapper who got jail time for being in possession of a gun. Yes, Lohan is white and T.I is black, but the crimes were at different state it's one thing with theft but another when illegally possess a weapon.

  6. Sine they have the money to get out of jail, no lessons will ever be learned. To them they probably don't see jail as a big idea only because they know they can get out just as fast as they got in there. I feel as though that because they're famous that they should be setting examples only because they have many fans that look up to them and some day hope to be like them. I just think that it's kind of selffish of them to repeatedly get locked up.
