By: Fatoumata Ndiaye

Education is very important for a person's success in life. Education is one of the most essential part of human development, it is a key to eliminating poverty. Education have been given a lot of attention to industrialized nation because it is one of the ways by which people are evaluated. It is generally seen as the establishment of society which brings economic wealth, social prosperity and political stability. If a nation does not hold educated people, the chances of development in that country are low because the people can not effectively contribute to the development of their country.

The best investment for the people is education because well educated people have more opportinuties to get a job which gives them satisfaction. Education plays a big and important role in getting a good job specially in today's economy. One good example is that if two people presented in a job opportinuty, the educated one will definitely get the post because he/she probably has mor knowledge and skills. Education is the key to move in the world, seek better jobs and succeed in life.

This video above talks about education and empolyment which i think are linked together because in order to get a high position of employment you definitely need a certain degree of education.

  1. Agreed, education is important and I believe crucial for people to obtain. It will not only take you farther in career paths but it is such a self-achievement to obtain more knowledge for yourself and not just settle for the basis/standard required education. Times are changing, and secondary education is becoming to be a must have in order to receive a well paying jobs now a days. For example, before players can be drafted in the NBA they MUST obtain a college education, as a posed to just a high school diploma. Furthermore, I definitely agree that more knowledgeable education shapes a better society. Nice Blog.

  2. I agree Education is very important. Like the commercial where the guy wanted a better job but he didn't go to school and everything revolves around school.

  3. Higher education these days is indeed crucial. It opens so many doors and presents countless opportunities for people in their desired field. With so many individuals obtaining degrees, it is the ultimate deciding factor when recruiting new employees.

Not only does it offer you a greater chance at securing a desired position, but overall knowledge, time management skills and discipline gained through the schooling process can only better you as an individual in this competitive world.

  4. I value education. A big problem with the college education system today is the huge amount of debt a student or family will have to endure in order to get good a university education. Even with grant & scholarship money a higher education for the common person can mean a lifetime of bondage & servitude in order to pay back the loans. People often end up working for less than expected wages in careers they didn't attend school for. An average doctor or lawyer can expect to graduate college with up to $200,000 in student loan debt that can not be written off in a bankruptcy. This kind of a bank note can cost upwards of $2000 per month for 30 years to repay. The average person not paying out of pocket can expect roughly $60,000 - $100,000 in student loan debt by the time they attain their Master's Degree.

When considering your educational goals or the educational goals of your children please think carefully. Chose the best education for the money. Look at the long term costs verses the actual projected earning potential. Consider whether you can honestly be content & thrive long term within your chosen field.

Think about it. Education is a lifetime achievement but it can also be a lifetime liability. True freedom to me means freedom from debt. I am trying to choose my educational steps wisely.

  5. I agree with Fatoumata when she said, “If a nation does not hold educated people, the chances of development in that country are low because the people can not effectively contribute to the development of their country.” In my country, Indonesia, there are a lot of young children who do not have a chance to go to school. It happens because the education system is not spread well enough to the rural area. In consequence, the way people who live in rural area think are different. Since they do not have enough education, they do not tell their children how important education is. Therefore, these children, the one that supposed to be the future of the country does not have a chance to develop their own country. I agree that we should invest more in to education so everyone has an opportunity live a good life.
